ULTRASOUND
DRY NEEDLING
WHAT IS ULTRASOUND DRY NEEDLING?
Ultrasound guided dry needling utilizes ultrasound imaging alongside dry needling to help treat trigger points, tendonitis, and tendinosis.
Dry needling uses small needles to cause microdamage to your muscle tissues. This increases blood flow to the area of treatment, increases your body’s healing response, and reduces pain.
Ultrasound imaging allows your Spooner dry needling certified physical therapist to visually see the tendonitis or tendinosis in your affected tendons as they are treating you. Ultrasound guided dry needling elevates traditional dry needling by increasing the accuracy of the treatment so you can move better and feel better faster.
BENEFITS
Ultrasound guided dry needling works to improve your range of motion while decreasing muscle tightness and pain. If you have experienced tendonitis- inflammation of your tendon- or tendinosis- the breakdown of your tendon’s collagen over time- ultrasound guided dry needling may help you. Ultrasound allows your physical therapist to see your tissues and insert the needle directly into the affected area. This can help speed up healing time so you can return to the activities you love.
