Introduction to Foot and Ankle Assessment, Treatment and Semi-Custom Orthotic Prescription
April 4 @ 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm
This course is designed to provide an overview of the effect of foot and ankle biomechanics and alignment on lower extremity function and rehabilitation. Emphasis will be placed on understanding basic foot and ankle anatomy and biomechanics, identifying common foot deformities, efficient evaluation and treatment of common foot abnormalities, and semi-custom orthotic prescriptions.
Attending this course will:
- elevate your understanding of the foot and ankle’s influence on the kinetic chain,
- sharpen your assessment and treatment of common foot and ankle dysfunctions
- boost your confidence with evaluation and prescription of semi-custom orthotics, and
- provide you with hands-on experience fabricating semi-custom orthotics.
So that we can get down to business during the live course, we will provide pre-course work focused on foot and ankle anatomy and biomechanics. Once we are together, the lecture will be coupled with hands-on lab sessions to reinforce and demonstrate practical applications of the course content to elevate the quality of your patient care and ensure you can provide effective treatments when you return to patient care on Monday.
